I am not that kind of person that always looks back or dwells on the past, but this time of the year usually makes me think about what I've achieved during the last 12 months.
2017 has been indeed a year of change, professionally and personally.
As many of you know I have 2 different jobs. As a nurse, my goal for 2017 was finding a role where I could have a better work life balance and a better career prospect.
I needed a fixed routine, avoiding nights and shifts, that could help me organize my time more effectively and continue with my studies and my career as Massage Therapist. At the same time I really wanted to feel fulfilled in my job and build a life outside my workplace.
I decided to go back to my beginnings, as the best memories of my career happened in a GP Practice. I couldn't be happier about the change!! The role, the team... It's just perfect!
As a Massage Therapist, I was already qualified as a Level 4 Holistic Massage Practitioner, but in 2017 I qualified as well as a Level 5 Remedial and Spots Massage Therapist. And before the year ended I was already enrolled for the Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Sports Therapy and Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation as well as the Level 6 Masters Diploma in Advanced Sports Therapy, which will give me the equivalent qualification to a degree qualification (BSc (Hons) graduate). It will be a long road of travelling, studying and working, but I'm so excited to have this massive project ahead! Hopefully I'll get both qualifications by the end of 2019!
I've met so many good friends in the last years of studies that thinking about all the new friends I'll make along the way also keeps me strong.
What else? In 2017 I moved my Treatment Room from home to a more professional commercial property where I have a nice setting to see my clients.
Such a milestone after almost 2 years of seeing people at home or travelling to their houses! And in 2017 my website was finally launched as well!
Can't wait to see what 2018 brings... loads of knowledge, hopefully loads of new clients, loads of new friends, road trips...
Such a good year to leave behind and such an even better year to come!
And of course, thank you Rhys, for letting me fly high, for helping me reach even higher, for being the best support ever, for pushing me when I want to give up, for being my Guinea Pig at times...
To all of you, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
